General Info
Welcome and thank you for your interest in joining our cross country and/or track and field program. I am committed to helping you become the best student athlete you can be. Before you can become a member however, there are a few things that you need to know. Before You Can Practice Grades -a grade point average of C- or 1.67 is needed for your 2nd and 3rd term report cards -if your 2nd term grades do not meet this requirement you cannot start practice until 3rd term grades are posted) -If you have any NCs you are ineligible. -mandatory tutoring will be assigned to any students who have a 1.67 average ð Physical- You must have had a physical within the last 13 months in order to be eligible. (you can get one from the school nurse if you are signed up with the school based health center or from your personal doctor) For Practice- ð Proper clothes- all of these items should be brought with you everyday -sweatshirt, sweatpants, shorts, t-shirts, sports bra, water bottle ð Proper shoes- you cannot practice unless you are in sneakers. No exceptions! Will discuss what proper running shoes look like. Practice Policy- There is no easy path to greatness; the only way you get better is by coming to practice. If you cannot commit to our schedule this may not be the sport for you. Practice times will vary to accomodate all three schools. Please check the practice schedule. In order to properly warm-up, work-out & cool down you MUST BE ON TIME. ð Practice will be held at various locations: Madison Park High School, White Stadium or the Fenway ð I WILL PROVIDE YOU WITH A WEEKLY PRACTICE & BUS SCHEDULE Tardy/Missed Practice Policy- I take attendance everyday. ð 3 unexcused practices or tardies total are allowed -if there is an academic or medical reason for your absence a note must be provided and we must be notified in advance about any conflicts you may have. The most important thing you need is a POSITIVE ATTITUDE!. Track can be difficult but if you show heart and support for your teammates it’s a struggle you enjoy. The team is everything. So come ready to work hard! |
